We Are Here For Adults, Teens, and Kids Who Are Ready To Overcome Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia

In 2026, conservative estimates suggest that over 30,000 people in Mississippi struggle with Panic Disorder. For many of these individuals, the fear of having another panic attack leads to Agoraphobia. This is a condition where your world starts shrinking as you avoid places that feel unsafe. We are here to help adults, teens, kids, and families recover from their fear of internal sensations and fears of places that trigger those sensations, so they can get their lives back and be present for the people who matter to them.

What is Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia?

If you are struggling with panic, you likely feel like your own body has turned against you. A panic attack is not just stress; it is a sudden, intense surge of fear that triggers severe physical reactions when there is no real danger. It is an incredibly lonely and terrifying experience to feel your heart racing or your breath shortening while the rest of the world seems to move on as normal. When this happens repeatedly, the "what if" questions begin to take over:

  • Loss of Control: What if I lose control of my mind and go crazy?

  • Public Embarrassment: What if I faint in the middle of the store and no one helps me?

  • The Trapped Feeling: What if I get stuck in traffic or a crowd and cannot get out?

  • Sensorimotor Awareness: What if I cannot catch my breath and I suffocate?

  • Physical Health: What if my heart stops or I am having a heart attack?

  • Agoraphobia: What if I leave my house and something happens where I do not have a safe person or a safe place?

These are distressing topics to grapple with. It’s exhausting living in a state of constant hyper-vigilance. The person with Panic Disorder gets caught in a mental and physical battle that leads to avoiding more and more of the things they used to enjoy.

Understanding the Panic Cycle

In Panic and Agoraphobia, people often adopt safety behaviors that make them feel a little more secure. This might look like always carrying a water bottle just in case, sitting near the exit in every room, constantly checking your heart rate on a watch, or refusing to drive on the interstate.

These behaviors provide short-term relief, but they keep you stuck in a vicious cycle. Your world shrinks the more you try to be perfectly certain that you are safe. The key to recovery is facing the panic wisely and strategically with a guide, so your body can change how it responds to triggers and internal sensations. This leads to lasting relief that rarely comes from obeying panic’s ever-increasing demands.

How We Treat Panic and Agoraphobia

Our approach is rooted in specialized training in treating the full spectrum of anxiety disorders. We utilize the gold standard of care: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a specific focus on compassionate exposure work that changes your relationship with anxiety in a way that brings lasting relief.

Training via the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) provides a specialized framework for understanding how to help someone walk through fear to the other side of it. While the IOCDF is known for OCD, the principles of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) apply directly to Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia. In both cases, the brain is overestimating a threat and underestimating your ability to handle it.

In addition to these general principles for treating anxiety disorders, we also use Dr. Reid Wilson’s work specifically on treating panic disorder, as seen in Don’t Panic and his self-help materials at www.anxieties.com.

We combine these treatments to help clients recover as quickly and as fully as possible. If you are only doing talk therapy for panic, you likely will not see the results you want. On the other hand, if you work hard at these exposures, there is a high likelihood that the power panic has over you will decrease significantly. It’s hard work, but the payoff could be life-changing.

Specialized Treatment for Lasting Results

We are committed to providing clear access to high-quality anxiety disorder treatments for Mississippians. Our specialized focus and training equip us to be your guide as you move from the "safe zone" back into the life you were meant to live.

Whether you are seeking care in person at our Brandon, Mississippi office or via telehealth from anywhere in the state, we are ready to help. We love treating Panic and Agoraphobia because we get to watch people grow in courage and realize they are stronger than what their mind and body are currently telling them. You can do the same.

Local Values: We raise our kids here, are members of local churches, and are invested in our community. Effective therapy requires trust and relatability, not just expertise. You’ll find both here.

Our Experience: We’ve Been Where You Are

We have been where you are now: searching for help with anxiety and overthinking that isn’t getting better on its own, but not knowing who to trust. Finding help in the maze of mental health directories was a confusing, stressful process.

At our clinic, we specialize in the evidence-based care you are looking for if you or a loved one is struggling with anxiety, stress, OCD, and OCD-related disorders.

Our Expertise: Specialized Treatment

Whether you know you have OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, or PTSD—or you just know that you are feeling stressed and burnt out and need some help understanding why—we would love to help you make sense of your struggle and give you a plan to feel more like yourself.

We believe that a right understanding of why you’re struggling, combined with the right treatment plan, can help you recover both more quickly and more fully. Our goal is for you to achieve long-term symptom relief by changing your habits and the way you relate to your mind and your story, not just receiving short-term reassurance.

Evidence-Based Clinical Approach

Anxiety and OCD-related disorders respond remarkably well to evidence-based treatments such as:

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD

Chronic stress and burnout don’t have to be the norm. You can get better if you are ready to work on the thoughts, behaviors, and past experiences that are driving these patterns and causing difficult emotions.

Aligned With Your Values

For those who are interested, we love to integrate Christian counseling with evidence-based treatment. If that’s not you, then we are more than happy to work with you without discussing faith. We’ll meet you where you’re at because our priority is that you find relief.

Improving Healthcare Access in Mississippi

Mississippi has a lot of great mental healthcare providers, but they’re difficult to navigate. We are the first clinic in our state to focus primarily on OCD and anxiety disorders. Most states and metros have clinics dedicated to these issues specifically, and we want our citizens to have clear access to similar resources as the rest of the country.

Professional Training & Trust

We focus our time, energy, and training on helping adults, teens, and kids with anxiety and OCD find peace and re-engage with the things that these struggles have taken away from them. Our clinicians have trained through some of these well-known organizations and more:

  • International OCD Foundation (IOCDF)

  • NOCD

  • Anxiety & Depression Association of America (ADAA)

We’re so glad you found us, and we hope to walk the journey towards confidence and strength with you.

Our Office in Brandon, Mississippi

We are located at 100 Highpointe Dr., Suite D, Brandon, MS 39042. Our offices have their own dedicated entry, waiting area, and restroom for your comfort and convenience.

Online Therapy via Telehealth

Telehealth can be especially helpful for anxiety because we can work in your home where your real-life triggers occur and we can have sessions that are convenient for you.

For younger kids, we often see parents and children together because the cycle of anxiety needs to be addressed in the whole family. If you are struggling with OCD or an anxiety disorder that isn’t going away easily, we are here for you and your family.
